It buzzes his phone lightly as the headline comes across the top of his screen, yet he only catches the words 'Ilya Rozanov' before the alert goes away.
He clicks over to it, assuming it'll be a highlight from one of last season's games. They may not have won the cup that season, but they made playoffs. Shane was certain they'd get it this year.
Only, when the article opens it doesn't say something like 'Ilya Rozanov, Best Goals Breakdown' or 'Ilya Rozanov, Craziest Come Back' instead it says:
'Ilya Rozanov, Beloved Husband, Captain, and Friend. Dead at Thirty-one'
OR
Ilya takes a brand deal without Shane out of the country. Somehow, his plane gets diverted to Moscow, Russia. As an out, bisexual, man married to a gay man, it isn't exactly where he wants to be. Yet he has no choice, and when someone tries to kill him, he isn't fast enough to stop the news from breaking and his world from slowly crumbling around him.

Summary
A tip from a fellow hunter leads Sue Numan, a 22-year old hunter with supernatural empathic abilities, to a small town with an old legend about the dead rising at midnight every hundred years. When the call connects it's not John who answers, but his son Dean.
What begins as a single hunt turns into a long road shared, as Sue joins the brothers in their search for John Winchester and sticks around after he's found. Despite telling herself that she's immune to Dean Winchester's charms at first, she finds herself developing feelings for him over time. But things are never easy when it comes to the Winchesters, especially for a young woman who feels everything they don't talk about.
This is an OC/Dean story that will (eventually) span all fifteen seasons. I’ll be diverging from canon where it makes sense, but I’m doing my best to stay true to the overall storyline. It's a slow burn, so sit back and enjoy the ride.

"How about our promise?" Nagi blurted out, words laced with irritation, cutting off Reo before he could even continue rambling on about his future plans. Reo shivered at Nagi's sudden mood change, but paid no mind, assuming that the other was just tired.
You couldn't have possibly forgotten our vows, right?
"Oh. By the time we win the World Cup, our promise will be fulfilled, no?" Reo asserted, with full, unwavering certainty– Nagi almost scoffed at how idiotic that ridiculous statement is. Reo had confidence that their motives were aligned and they had a mutual agreement– Nagi hated it. Reo's target was always the World Cup, Nagi however thought of other plans.
Something snapped in Nagi that day when Reo gave him the wrong answer.

Fushiguro continues playing with Yuuji's fingers idly. "I'm sorry," he whispers, thumb resting on the stump of Yuuji's ring finger.
Yuuji shakes his head. "Don't be. It was my choice."
"For my sake," Fushiguro retorts.
Yuuji huffs, searching for something to say to ease Fushiguro's guilt, or at least cheer him up. "If you think about it, it means we're engaged now." Yuuji says thoughtfully.
Fushiguro pulls back to turn and look at Yuuji fully. "I don't think that's how it works," Yuuji can't see his face well in the dark, but from his tone knows the bridge of his nose is all scrunched up.
Fushiguro's hand is still resting on top of Yuuji's. Impulsively, he clasps them together, intertwining their fingers. "It could be."
"Your logic is…fascinating." Fushiguro's tone is slightly judgemental, but there's an undercurrent of fondness. He squeezes Yuuji's hand lightly.
"My logic is correct." Yuuji replies, nodding sagely.
